A beautiful French Château hotel

Chateau Corban 1

It is a long drive back to London from our petit apartment in the South of France. One of the consolations is that we treat ourselves to an overnight stay at a Château hotel.  It is great fun searching for a new one, preferably not too far off the main motorway to Calais. The criteria is that it needs to be “quirky”, sometimes traditional, sometimes not and have excellent “cuisine”.

On this occasion we found a superb chateau hotel set in the french countryside.  You can see from the photos that it was an absolute gem.

I am wearing a blanket coat in the photos. I find it really useful to sling over a jacket for an extra layer of warmth. This one I bought many years ago from DKNY however they are very on trend this season and there are a few I have selected below.

Shoes Tods trainers, very comfortable and a great investment, Similar below.

The chateau looks beautiful and elegant. Not liking the shoes and pants combo. I don’t see the point of pants that look like “floods”.

Thanks for your advice Rita. Don’t know what “floods” means but you are probably right. I guess for a 6 hr car journey I go for comfort and I find if I wear boots my feet feel a bit cramped after a while. Have a good day.

I believe Rita is referring to the picture where the pants are rather short. So if you are wading in a flood, your pants won’t get wet!

You look beautifully chic yet comfortable, age appropriate for comfort but stylish and ageless. I admire your style and look forward to reading your blog and see your posts.
