A brand that understands grown-up modern women

Look beautiful and confident in HopeFashion, a brand that understands grown-up modern women. I have been a fan of HopeFashionuk since it first launched in 2015. You can see many examples of me wearing their styles here and here.

My favourite pieces are from their foundation range, especially their foundation trousers. They are ideal for travelling as they are very comfortable and pack really well without creasing.

I am wearing their soft grey marl rib funnel neck jumper with cashmere teamed with their soft grey marl wide leg trouser with cashmere.

One of the things I am checking this season is sustainability particularly the composition of the fabrics and where the clothes are made. I am glad to say that Nayna, the founder of HopeFashionuk takes sustainability seriously.

She has been working with a family-owned mill that is winning awards for using recycled cashmere. The family who own the factory are currently developing a method to recycle cotton and cashmere.

The mill that supplies their wonderful Foundation fabric (already recognised as an industry leader in sustainable practices) is looking at a recycled foundation fabric, watch this space!

I am wearing HopeFashionuk’s purple cashmere blend slash neck jumper with their foundation trousers.

Hope has always been about investment dressing. I have been buying from this brand for many years. I have a small collection of their pieces all of which I have worn and washed frequently. They have stood the test of time well and look as good as new.

So whilst the answer to the question ‘do you need more clothes?’ is probably no, purchasing clothes that make us feel good and help to boost our self esteem, I personally feel is very important. If those garments have been sourced responsibly with a strong ‘cost per wear’ ethic then hopefully we can feel we are doing our bit for the environment and indeed ourselves.

Please let me know what your thoughts are, is it something you consider, does it matter, is it changing your behaviour to clothes purchasing?

Hope do ship Internationally. You need to go to the top right hand corner and change the flag to the country you want. Here is a link to the sweaters in am wearing in dollars. HopeFashion US.

Disclaimer: The clothes I am wearing were lent to me for photographic purposes and have been returned. However I will definitely be purchasing at least one of the sweaters.

Chicatanyage

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • I too love Hope and own quite a few pieces, mostly bought on sale, which is an extra bonus. Beautiful clothing.

  • I'm a great believer in sustainability. Classic pieces in quality fabrics don't date quickly and wear better - and I don't seem to tire of really good items. I've got a Jaeger jacket I bought in 1992!

I keep the budget under control by haunting the sales and charity shops - my latest bargain was an N.Peal cashmere tunic, still with its tags, for a fiver!

Must check out Hope - you look great!

    • I find the Hope designs frequently swamp my 5’2” frame -most of the models are tall. The garments are expensive, ‘with cashmere’ has 8% cashmere for £135 and a sweater I bought last year (thankfully in the sale) hasn’t worn very well. The idea is good, the products ethical, but...

      • Hi Anne
The founder Nayna is about 5'2" and I always think that she looks great in her designs. Sorry to hear about your sweater I suggest you contact them and give some feedback. I have Hope sweaters going back about five years and they are still going strong.

  • At this point in my life, I think a lot about sustainable fashion, but the sad truth is up to not too long ago, I couldn't really afford buying or maintaining quality fashion. I think the first place everyone should shop is their closet, to see if they can re-use, recycle, up-cycle. There hasn't been a relationship for me between number of wears and quality -- honestly, some of the pieces I have worn the most came from fast fashion places, particularly with some alterations. Unfortunately quality often meant drycleaning. I would like to try Hope Fashion, your outfit here was really inspiring, I like the washable aspect, didn't like the limited number of colors and styles.

    • Hi Norine
I agree with you on the dry cleaning. I make sure all my clothes are washable except my outer wear such as coats and jackets and they don't need cleaning that often.

  • I like the look of the foundation range but I don’t think they ship abroad.
I agree that we should be buying fewer items of clothing. Quality over quantity is a good mantra. How many of us wear clothes until they wear out these days I wonder?

    • Hi Rosalind
Yes, they do ship internationally. You need to go to the top right-hand corner and click on the flag to change the country. If you click on this link it should show the prices in dollars HopeFashionUS

  • Thanks, Josephine, you look lovely in both outfits. I like the purple sweater with the navy trousers and also was surprised and pleased to see the purple sweater on the website with dark brown trousers-- wouldn't have thought of that and it's a pretty combination.
