Jeans create a classic interseason outfit. I have not been wearing my jeans for a couple of months. Now that we have reached September, that in-between season month, it seems like a good idea to start re-wearing my tried and trusted jeans again.
A couple of pairs of my jeans had seen better days and it was time to replace them. Both the jeans were the skinny style. Skinny has never been the best shape for my pear-shaped figure. I got away with wearing them if I wore a longline tunic top that covered my hips. However, I am really glad to see that fashion has swung back to the straight or wide-leg jeans. If skinnies suit your figure that is fine and they are still available.
Add a tailored jacket and some statement earrings and you have the perfect outfit for early Autumn. I have purchased the blue cotton blouse featured above and really love it.
The jeans that I am featuring in this post and that I am also trialling myself are from MarksandSpencer. M&S seems to be getting back on track after a difficult few months. Their deliveries are bit random as their items are being sent from different locations. They have also changed their return system in order to save paper wastage. They are using sustainable cotton. You can read about their sustainable cotton here.

MarksandSpencer also offer high waisted flared jeans (good if you have a pear shape figure).
For my USA readers you can access jeans from MarksandSpencer here.
I have put together both a cool and a warm palette to provide inspiration for my readers with both my cool and warm colour preferences.

Lovely clothes Josephine I love the choices! I hope John Lewis survives the pandemic I know their Oxford Street store well. I tend to go for skinny and girlfriend jeans and I love leggings provided they keep their stretch. Have a lovely week!
I too am pear shaped but short as well so have recently decided that I need to move away from skinny jeans. I’ve been liking straight (slim boyfriend) and cigarette jeans that don’t hug the leg so much but are not too wide and floppy. Luckily there are many styles to choose from to suit most!
My personal preference is for a slim fit jean. I leave the skinny jeans, jeggings and leggings alone as my bottom half wasn't made with them in mind. They show a bit too much of what I'm not keen to show off I'm afraid!
Love your choices, Josephine, especially the blues! I can't get Toolally earrings here in the USA and shipping charges are costly. I'm finding that Chico's girlfriend jeans fit me best but I'm just starting to get into wearing them since I've retired. I never was much of a jean wearer more so chinos and corduroys for casual wear. But, the new denim stretch fabrics are quite nice, aren't they? You always provide us "good stuff!" Thank you!
Glad that you like the blog and thank you for taking the time to comment. I agree that stretch is very important in jeans.
The most awaited article which i found out. I was looking out for some unique outfit ideas for me to try out. I found the high waisted flared jeans as an amazing option to try out next time. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I love the EVA bootcut jeans from marks and spencer, which are very good value and comfortable to wear. I wish M & S would not sell so many skinny jeans, which do us pear shapes no favour at all.
