St. Tropez

A visit to St.Tropez market September 2021

Join me for a visit to St.Tropez market September 2021. We were up early last Tuesday morning. A friend very kindly gave us a lift into St.Tropez market. Unfortunately the traffic was very heavy so we did not arrive till the market was in full swing. It was more crowded than we had anticipated so I was only able to take photos of the front stalls.

I have bought tops and tees from the above stall in the past. This season they are currently displaying many of the warm autumn tones that are very much on trend this season. Also lots of print maxi dresses which are also very fashionable at the moment.

A very typical St. Tropez outfit. Simple black and white ensemble with red embroidery on the jacket adding a bohemian touch. A typical St.Tropez tassel necklace completes the look.

This is one of my favourite shops situated on one of the side streets leading to the market. It is very chic and quite expensive. Showing a bright orange top worn with white trousers. (apologies for the quality of the photo there was a lot of reflection from the glass).

Another chic outfit in the shop window. I love the colour of this bronze puffa coat.

Decorative rugs

A collection of handbags. Mostly classic styles this season. Many are quite small in size reflecting the fact that many of us don’t seem to be carrying so much in our bags these days.

A visit to the market would not be complete without a visit to the amazing vegetable stall. So fresh and delicious.

The very chic Dior cafe (see my previous post)

I hope you enjoyed “A visit to St.Tropez market September 21. I will be back soon with more photos of the market.

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

    • Hello Sally
If it is not too crowded and I can get into the centre of the market I will see what I can do about getting some tassel necklaces.

  • I do miss the French Markets. I had a static caravan at Argeles sur mer until 2015 and I do miss France both the food and the fashion.

  • It is fabulous that you are back in St. Tropez and Grimaud, Josephine! I feel like my pioneer ancestors here in western Missouri-- I know my great grandmother had clothes from Paris even though she never went there-- like her I am "licking the glass," is that what they say? I feel so confined from this pandemic and am excited to see what you bring back for your shop! XOXO.

  • So many pretty things to look at. Thank you for sharing. I could look at dozens of photos of this market and not tire of it. So nice that we can copy French looks with items I can find here in the U.S. Though I must admit - I wish I could beam myself there and stroll for hours, taking in every single stall! Can’t wait to see what treasures you acquire!

  • Thank you for sharing these photos. Southern France is on my list of places to visit someday….I can’t wait until COVID dies down and we can travel with no fear.
I love the knit dresses and tops from the first shop. Perfect for fall and winter here in the southern US. They’d be perfect with leggings or opaque tights. Maybe layered over a turtleneck when it gets really cold. Can you add them to your shop?
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy your time in St. Tropez..and keep those photos coming.

    • Hello Cheryl
Thank you for your comment. I don't think that I will be able to get any of the dresses as I only sell accessories in the shop. Clothes are too difficult due to the sizing issues.

      • Hello Josephine,
Thank you for responding to me. A bit disappointed about the dresses, but I totally understand. Now, I have a quest…..search for them here in the States!!!
        Take care, stay healthy!
        Cheryl

  • I look forward to going there one day when we can travel again. We are still in lockdown in Canberra, Australia but hopefully we will be able to travel again next year.

  • Yummy photographs. Look forward to more, more more. Two years since I’ve been there. Enjoy your stay.
