How to adapt a summer dress and make your wardrobe go further. My normal go-to outfits usually feature a pair of trousers and at the moment I am really loving the ease and freedom of dresses. Maybe because our weather here in London is glorious at the moment. I have unpacked all my summer dresses and am really enjoying wearing them. They are so easy to just pop on, add some jewellery or a scarf and you are ready to go. The dress I am wearing above is from Cos bought last year. The scarf is from Chicatanyage scarf shop (It comes in two other colourways if you have warm colouring)
Maybe I just got a bit bored with wearing the ubiquitous joggers, leggings or jeans every day and wanted to shake things up a bit. It seems that you are of the same opinion as my last post featuring my new maxi dress proved very popular.
I don’t really do the girly style dresses with ruffles, just not my style, I prefer my dresses simple. Not that there is anything wrong with a more feminine style dress, I have a couple of friends who look great in that look.
Some dresses can also be extremely adaptable. Depending on the length and shape you can add a pair of trousers or leggings and turn into tunics. Here I have added a pair of white cotton trousers and a contrasting belt from Jigsaw.
Kin at JohnLewis&Partners has some great adaptable dresses with a 50% discount at the moment.
Arket have 15% off their dresses and they have some nice loose ones some suitable to wear with trousers.
I have recently had the privilege of judging a fashion competition hosted by my favourite make-up Brand Lookfabulousforever. The winners of the competition will be published on their blog this Sunday. Pop over and have a look. All the participants put in a lot of effort when creating their outfits.
