Advent Calendars for adults and kids Memories of childhood

Advent Calendars for adults and kids Memories of childhood

Now I know it may be way too early to mention the “C” word as in Christmas, however, some of us like to get organised as early as possible. I am definitely one of them. If I leave my purchase to the last minute much of what I want has sold out. I am finding this is happening more and more often as retailers don’t seem to be carrying as much stock as before due to the challenging retail climate. They don’t want to get stuck with unsold stock which will affect their profits.

As I trawl the internet searching for my own gifts and decorations I will be sharing my selections with you.

Something for us adults!

What a wonderful idea. Every evening after a busy day you can put your feet up and indulge in your own tasting session with a mini bottle of wine Wine advent calendar.

Advent calendars remind me of my childhood and that wonderful excitement that builds up as Christmas approaches. I can now relive this anticipation as I search for little treats for my grandsons. Cath Kidson advent calendar

If you are a Clarins fan and are planning to stock up you can get this generous bonus calendar at Nordstrom Clarins Advent Calendar (gift with purchase see details).

Let us also pamper ourselves and buy an advent calendar that we can enjoy. If you are a beauty addict as I am why not indulge in one of the beauty calendars. I have always loved L’Occitane and often stock up on their products when I am in France. This little beauty allows you to test out their products in mini versions. Alternatively, why not treat a friend. L’Occitane advent calendar Nordstrom MarksandSpencer

If you are the kind of person that likes to make your own original treats. You can get creative with this wonderful treasure chest of individually chosen gems. Nordstrom arty light up calendar.

The above is on my list as my youngest grandson is a fan of Paw Patrol. He will love this. Boots paw patrol calendar

Another one for the adults. Mini-cocktails and chocolates filled with alcohol. What could be more indulgent? Festive cocktail Calendar

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • It is too early for the rush but thanks for the reminder. Our kids still love Advent Calendars!

  • That Kath Kidson "calendar" is adorable! And, I went to the Boots site and I can order here and have delivered to daughter's flat... she is a fan of her artwork. What fun! Thank you.

  • I love real kitschy calendars with Father Christmas and loads of glitter etc. which reminds me of my childhood in Germany. Anyway, its time to start with preparations like baking, buying booze etc. Like you I like to have the presents bought early, ideally by the end of November as I have to send some abroad. Thanks for your brilliant ideas!
