Can we still wear leather jackets? – Yes! In my opinion definitely. My oversized leather jacket is one of my favourite garments in my wardrobe. I bought it in the sale from MeandEm about five years ago. You can see me wearing it here and here. Cost per wear is highly efficient.
You may well remember my twelve-year-old yellow mini. It has been featured many times in my posts and has always received very flattering comments. Sadly I had to sell it a few months ago as I was finding the gear stick and the clutch too stiff for my arthritic shoulder and hip. As you can see from the photo above I have replaced it with a snazzy new automatic version. I love it. It is really smooth and easy to drive.
I am wearing head-to-toe black so I have added a bright red cashmere scarf to lift the outfit. The scarf is from Chicatanyageshop. It is nice and wide and can double up as a shawl. Also available in pink, bright blue and teal.
Boots several years old similar: here, here and here.
The cashmere scarf is shown here in bright blue. There is still time to order for Christmas.

I can’t imagine why anyone would say we (older women) can’t wear leather jackets. I have a gray faux leather one that I wear a lot, and I’m thinking about buying another one.
I love leather and faux leather just as much! I have several from over the years that look just as nice as the day I purchased.
I love your leather jacket… I have a couple, but live in the sunny south of USA and rarely wear either. I’ll have to dig them out and start wearing again. Nice Mini; I wanted one for awhile and finally bought one a couple of years ago. Mine is a darker grey/inky charcoal and so much fun to drive!
You are looking gorgeous as usual. If I may ask, with an arthritic hip and shoulder what is your routine to help you handle the day’s things are acting up. It gets so overwhelming at times.

Hello Sylvia
Good question. It is hard work. I fell off my bicycle during lockdown and having seen several doctors there is no real answer. I have a good phsio and for my hip I just keep moving. Nordic walking every Thursday and pilates on the reformer machines on Mondays and Fridays. The important thing is to keep actuve.
I love leather jackets so much so that I own three. I have two collarless slightly tailored jackets one black and the other a smokey navy plus a burgundy biker jacket. Sadly last winter it was too hot here (Australia) for any of them to get worn. Just as well they are timeless.
Your hairstyle is looking good and i love the coat on you.
Looks great Josephine, I love that outfit on you. Probably a bit narcissistic as it’s one of my go to uniforms!
I think the shape of this leather jacket is highly unusual and very flattering. I would buy it in a heartbeat. It looks great on you. Congratulations with your new Mini. I bought a Volvo V40, als automatic. Not because of any ailments, just because I am lazy. Unfortunately the seats are pretty low, so I moan and groan when I have to get out of the car haha.
