Classics always look chic

Classics always look chic. When it comes to our basics it is worth investing in the classics. I have owned this Winser London short trench coat for over two years now (how I wore it in 2015). It has served me well and has been worth the initial outlay. Cost per wear I have lost count. It is lightweight and therefore ideal for Spring/Summer. It is made from a showerproof techno fabric and washes like a dream. Very practical.

I have teamed my trench with Winter London current season wide leg jersey trousers (also washable) and their casual cotton jumper in soft white. I find that a soft white is often more flattering to older skin than a pure white.

There was a chilly wind so I have wrapped the Winserlondon cashmere wrap round my neck. Similar in the Winser blue in cotton.

Chicatanyage

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

    • Hi Sarah
I buy a lot of my jewellery in the market in St.Tropez or in the market every Thursday held in our small village. Most of my pearls are bought from a particular stall. She does have a website. Otherwise I find that Etsy have some good choices. In this case my grey necklace was bought at the Gerard Darel shop in St.Tropez. It is a copy of a necklace made for Jackie Kennedy. They don't seem to stock it any more but you might find one on a vintage site like Vestiaire.
