On my walks around the village and visits to St.Tropez I have been noticing some of the colours I have seen French women wearing. The uniform seems to be white jeans or trousers teamed with various coloured tops especially bright orange, mustard and rust. The weather here is still hot during the day however the evenings are beginning to get cooler and the nights are drawing in. I feel that white jeans are a good way to slowly transition from summer into early autumn here in the South of France.
Details of above:
Mustard cashmere sweater Evalane | White jeans Lands End | Multi coloured rain Mac Boden | Brown crossbody bag Nordstrom | Chevron sneakers Boden | Red blouse MarksandSpencer.
I have put together a collage that shows the look. These are definitely warm colours. You can of course substitute the tops with your favourite colour tones and I will probably do another post showing items from the cooler palette.
I am taking some time out to relax on the beach. We will be here for about another week and then returning to London. I will be visiting St.Tropez market next Tuesday and hope it will be less crowded as the season here is beginning to wind down.
Follow me on Instagram where I will be posting more photos of my time in France.
You can see many of these colours in the St.Tropez market in last weeks post.

I love these warm colors! Thank you! So glad you are relaxing and enjoying your time in the South of France.
Good morning. It is time to stitch out the closet. Pull out the lovely warm things of fall . I hate winter , but love the clothing. I live in Indiana , we have four seasons . My big buy this year has been scarves. At 77, I am giving up heels. I am much more comfortable in flats. I hate giving them up , but feel more secure . I love putting an outfit together, and getting dress. I do it even if I am only going out to do the store. I only buy separates, giving me lots of options. Thank you for your encouragement to be chic. The older I get the more I am enjoying being beautifully dressed. Again thank you. Jenny Dix
Hello Martha
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment on my blog. I agree with you scarves are so versatile and are a quick way to make an outfit look great.
I too have given up heels and find flats so much more comfortable. I am so glad you enjoy putting your outfits together.
Martha - I just turned 68 and delight in clothing, accessories, jewelry, footwear, hats, coats, makeup, etc., etc.even more than I did as a teen. I always will, and it makes me happy to know that. Here in NJ, we, too, have 4 full-strength seasons. More clothing to love! I am so excited to begin wearing my Halloween jewelry and Halloween and Autumn clothing. We are still girls who wanna have fun!
Josephine, I am loving your posts from the South of France. Can’t wait for what you have to share with us on your next visit to the St. Tropez market. Would it be too much to ask that you photograph every item at every booth, and all the sellers’ outfits?. Your bathing suit is lovely, as is your sarong skirt. Your colors are my colors. Thanks so much for sharing the joy. P.S. 1-1/2” heels are the highest I’ve ever been comfortable with. I wear flats 99% of the time.
Hello Kathleen
I am sorry to say that your request would be impossible. The market is still very crowded and many of the stallholders do not like people taking photographs so I have to be very subtle and discreet.
Having said that I did get some good shots last Saturday.
I’m so embarrassed! My “crazy request” was tongue in cheek and I put a silly smiley face at the end, but it didn’t appear! I worried it might be taken seriously - sorry for the confusion. I love your blog!
