Sales

Current sales that I think are worth a look

Above: Hopefashionuk Indigo tunic dress reduced from £120 to £60 //  Me&Em khaki maxi dress reduced from £119 to £59 (also available in navy) // Me&Em check jacket reduced from £299 to £149 // Me&Em contrast stitch wrap dress reduced from £199 to £139 // Black slip-on sneakers Nordstrom Anniversary Sale now $169 after sale $275 // HopefashionUk Khaki lightweight parka reduced from £150 to £75 (also available in navy) // Burgundy crossbody bag Nordstrom Anniversary sale now $129  after sale $198.

Many of the summer sales started early this year and some are already coming to an end. I am now back in London where it is predicted to stay hot and summery for the foreseeable future. If you are beginning to get bored of your current warm weather wardrobe and are looking for the odd piece to liven things up a bit there are still some good bargains to be had.  Ideally, choose items that you can wear now and layer up when the weather turns a bit cooler.

Alternatively, you may still be looking for just the right piece to add to your summer holiday packing list.

Dresses seem to have been the favourite of the season and in my opinion they are the best option in very hot weather.

I have had so much wear from the two Hopefashionuk dresses that I added to my wardrobe at the beginning of the summer. See how I wore them here and here.

My picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Even though we are still enjoying a gorgeous summer here in London I am beginning to get my eye in for the colours and shapes on offer for the coming Autumn. As the saying goes “the early bird catches the worm”

Eileen Fisher:

I have a pair of cream linen trousers which are three years old and still in good condition.

Theory:

I have a classic navy blazer again about three years old and still looks current. I find their tailoring is excellent.

Vince:

J.Crew:

I have a J.Crew khaki parka which is a core piece in my wardrobe.

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.
