Grey makes an excellent addition to your wardrobe neutrals. Many of the colours this season are deep and muted, think brown, deep burgundy, rust and of course the usual blacks and navies. Grey is a versatile and easy to wear alternative. If you have grey hair, as I do, it can be especially flattering.
Now there is grey and there is grey. Tones of grey can range from bright silver to the deep warmer tones. Make sure that you choose a shade that throws a flattering light onto your face.
The gorgeous light grey tunic sweater I am wearing above is from WinserLondon. The style is very flattering as it is long enough to cover the hips. It has a deep V neckline and the soft flared finish at the sleeve is a nice touch.
WinserLondon is definitely one of my favourite brands. This is because I believe in investing in good quality clothes that will stand the test of time. I started buying from WinserLondon over five years ago when the brand was first created by Kim Winser. The older WinserLondon pieces in my wardrobe still rank among my favourites and I wear them on repeat.
I have teamed my light grey sweater with a pair of WinserLondon Straight leg jeans. They are a more relaxed fit than their original jeans which you can see me wearing here. Both are flattering and comfortable however I find the new straight leg jeans suit my wider hip to waist ratio better.
If the weather turns chilly you can add a hat and a pea coat. Again one of my wardrobe staples. It is by Gerard Darel, I bought it in France a few years ago. Similar by Whistles at JohnLewis & Partners or Nordstrom have a few here.
I also tried their classic trousers in the same grey tone, highly recommend if you want a more formal cut. If you are petite WinserLondon have a similar grey sweater that sits on the hip.

Have to confess grey has never been a favourite of mine : I don't possess a single garment in any of its shades. My sister had grey eyes and looked good in grey. I have green eyes and don't.

I have green eyes and I still like grey but nowadays mostly the lighter to mid-toned greys and they need to have a bluish tone.
Yes definitely going ahead with the scarves. Taking a bit longer than anticipated to build the site and take the photos. Was planning to have it up by the end of the year but realistically will probably be early next year. Will keep you posted.

My boots are from Vionic about a year ago. They are very comfortable.
If you can wear it then grey is a lovely colour. I’m surprised how flattering it is with grey hair. As you say you need to choose the right grey. I favour a bluey grey. Love your scarf in the bottom photo.

That view! I LOVE IT. Your photos are beautiful. and bring back such lovely memories. My daughters used to go to primary school half way up Richmond Hill, so I would see that view down the hill to the river on my way going there and coming back, sometimes up to six times a day. And then the drive back through Richmond Park. And I used to sometimes walk my dogs along beside the river to Ham House, the westie was quite badly behaved but he didn't like water, so he could only run away from me forwards or backwards (it used to be trees and hedgerow on the other side, I wonder if it still is). And then, just to be difficult, my Labrador would go in the river and swim. The joys of family life - some twenty five years ago. We've moved away from the area now, but I feel very nostalgic looking at your photos.

Yes the view is gorgeous however the area is not as peaceful as it was twenty years ago due to the constant noise from airoplanes flying into Heathrow.

I love the way you styled each ensemble. Also love the scarves. I have been drawn to greys over the last year and have picked up several pieces. When I tried to put them together I was amazed at how many "different" greys I had purchased. Your photos show me to mix the light and dark and add color. I love the idea of a grey column, but my column looks a bit .... messy due to the different shades of grey.

Yes grey can be irritationg like that. I think you can mix light with dark greys but the need to have a similar undertone ie. cool or warm based.
