Fashion over 50

French style inspiration

I just fell in love with this photograph from my favourite French magazine “La Femme Majuscule”. I thought I would have some fun and re-create a similar look. So I dug out my pink jacket with lace insets. I have worn it on several occasions since I bought it to wear at my son’s wedding three years ago.

COPY THE LOOK:

I am wearing my coat with straight white jeans similar USA & UK plus a pair of trainers for a more casual look. I previously wore this coat for a summer trip to the theatre in London. On that occasion, I teamed it with a pair of black trousers, black top and black sandals. Once I have made an investment purchase I believe in getting as much wear as possible from the piece by mixing it with other items in my wardrobe.

My coat is by PauleKa. A selection of her designs are available at Harvey Nichols They are excellent for weddings and special occasions.

This white eyelet top is the nearest I could find in my wardrobe to the lacy top worn by the chic French woman. Top by WinserLondon.

My rose gold jewellery completes the look. I love rose gold and the combination of rose gold and pearls is a winner in my opinion. The above hoops are from my favourite jewellery brand Claudia Bradby. They design modern delicate jewellery and specialise in peals at reasonable prices. Pearls that are designed to be worn on a daily basis. My duo pearl earrings are among my favourites (seen here). Earrings above seem to be sold out similar. PS. I am off to York later today to spend time with friends. I have prepared a couple of posts to entertain you this week.

Take a tour with me around York by following my INSTAGRAM. I have been stretching my technical skills and learning how to post “Instagram stories”.

Chicatanyage

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.
