Gifts for men

I find that men can be the hardest to buy for. In my opinion, they seem to take a more practical approach to gifts. Maybe they are not as tempted or enticed by pretty sparkly things as we are. We are happy to duplicate especially when it comes to shoes and handbags. Whereas one good quality item seems to be enough for them.

Another aspect certainly in my family is that instead of giving useful hints they go off and buy what they need themselves. Infuriating.

Anyway, I have put together a list of items that will help me and ideally you to choose a present for your father, uncle, brother, husband or son.

I have enjoyed all your gift ideas and admire those who take pleasure in choosing gifts for their loved ones. For me the concern that it doesn't hit the mark led me to resort to money. And now with cheques redundant, it's all done online. The positive aspect is that now I don't feel compromised with unsustainability. For the last couple of years my youngest son has given us vouchers for outdoor sculpture exhibitions which we have really enjoyed. He's a great believer in experiences rather than stuff. Several years ago my eldest son gave us Kiva gift cards which we have continued to support. It's a worldwide small ($25) loan based funding enterprise which supports entrepreneurs. A very grounding experience given the excesses we see at Christmas.
