How I accessorise a summer dress

Wearing a cool summer dress in our local market.

I look forward to the vibrant market in our small village every Thursday morning. It is full of stalls selling local cheeses, olives and fresh fruit and veg. It also has several stalls selling artisan jewellery and traditional french linen and tableware. You never know quite what you will find as many of the stalls change regularly.

There are however a few regulars. One of which is a jewellery stall where I have bought many of the pieces you may have seen featured on this blog. The owner makes all the jewellery herself and specialises in pearls. I wore a string of her pearls to my sons wedding here. I often get asked by my readers where they can find similar pieces. Normally it is difficult to let you know the source of my jewellery purchases in the french markets. This time I can direct you to Natashca’s website Lesbijouxdenatashca.

The dress I am wearing is by Bombshell. I featured another one of their flattering cotton dresses in my post on Special occasion dressing. It shows how versatile the Bombshell dresses are. They can be dressed with a formal hat and shoes or worn casually with sandals. I love how cool the cotton fabric is on a humid day.

They currently have a sale on with 30% reduction. So now would be a great time to buy one of their glamorous dresses. Quote CHIC at checkout.

PS. Not everything goes to plan when taking photographs. Trying to capture some light on a cloudy day in the South of France!!

Chicatanyage

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • I love the jewelry. My problem, I don't read French. Is there any way I can get an English version of her website? I am in USA.Does she ship? Enjoy your blog. Thanks!

    • Hi Janice

I am afraid the the Jewellery lady only speaks french. If you can send me a link to a particular piece I will translate it for you. I have checked her shipping details and it says that taxes and duty will be added separately however it then says that she only ships to France. I will get my friend who is still in France to check this with her.

    • Hi Sheila
Bombshell do have a sale on at the moment and some of the dresses are greatly reduced.

  • It looks so charming, wish I was there! Dress looks really pretty, I think we all spend too much time in trousers, so nice to get out of them sometimes isn't it.

  • These are lovely neck pieces ,what a shame the ones I liked were sold or unavailable . Thank you for showing the site to us anyway.
    Love your blogs. Thank you.
