How to adapt a satin skirt from casual to formal. I bought my navy satin skirt from Hopefashionuk last year. They have a similar one in camel this season. You can see me wearing it casually with a leather jacket and more formally with a simple top, jewellery and a scarf in the pictures below (taken May 2020). I have also changed my footwear from casual white trainers to a pair of low heeled black pumps in the second image. The skirt would also look good with a classic fitted jacket.
I recently had a question from a reader asking my advice for what to wear to attend a winter wedding. I think that a satin skirt would work well if you added a dressy jacket, a hat if you like hats and a pair of comfortable court shoes.

The chicatanyage scarf shop is now open. We have one scarf in a similar pattern to the one above in warm colour tones. We also have 100% cashmere scarves in three colours and 100% wool scarves. The St.Tropez market did not yield a wide choice of scarves this year. Many of the usual stalls were missing. However I am still looking to source some cotton scarves similar to the ones we stocked last year plus I may have found some tassel necklaces. Let me know if you would be interested in either or both.

That skirt is a wardrobe treasure. So many ways you can wear it. You look lovely in both outfits. P.S. Just read your ebook. Your message is very clear – dressing each day should bring joy at any age. It does for me. Anything related to fashion, style and beauty is pure joy. Shopping, window shopping, browsing blogs and Pinterest online, paging through magazines, imagining outfits and new combos, people watching – all spark joy. Your blog, especially.
Hello Kathleen
Thank you for your comment and glad that my blog adds to your joy sparkle
I so agree with you!! Fashion, style, beauty all bring me joy!! I love reading about the topic on-line and reading books!! Life is so good in retirement!! Now, if I could just have no medical issues!! The Lord blesses!!
Hello Natalie
Don’t know about retirement yet but probably feel as if I should slow down a bit as I always seem to have so much to do. Agree about the aches and pains which I have in my joints!
I wish my medical problems were aches and pains. I have been on dialysis for 25+ years. But, I Praise the Lord That He allows me to live a very blessed, healthy and happy life with my husband in early retirement!! I feel very blessed!!
