Accessories – I love them. I am like a magpie when it comes to accessories especially costume jewellery and scarves. I never seem to have enough and can’t resist temptation especially if the piece is big bold and shiny.
My wardrobe pared down and classic with a twist. I like simple shapes that can be easily adapted from day to evening. When I travel I only take a walk-on case so each item I pack needs to flexible.
The key to ringing the changes and creating multiple outfits from a few pieces is accessories. They take up very little space in a suitcase, can transform an outfit from ordinary to chic in a few seconds.

Another advantage of adding a well-chosen scarf, necklace or pair of earrings is that you can experiment with colour and on-trend shapes without breaking the bank.
With regard to bags, this can take a bit more thought if you are buying a good quality leather bag. I have been very pleased with the pale pink coach bag I bought earlier this year. I love the way it adds a pop of colour to an otherwise monochrome outfit. See how I wore it here. I intend to wear it right through the winter to liven up my neutrals.
There are lots of animal print accessories around at the moment from shoes to handbags to scarves if you fancy a touch of the jungle.

I love the bags, but they're all leather! Could you please feature some non-leather bags for your readers who are trying to lead a cruelty-free lifestyle?
Hi Ann
When it comes to non-leather bags Stella McCartney comes to mind but they are probably too expensive for most of our budgets. Although I have seen a few in our local TKMaxx from time to time. I do occasionally feature plastic handbags however I am not very keen on plastic as it is not sustainable and almost certainly not fair trade. If you know of any Brands I can check out do let me know. Arket have some nice nylon ones.
I totally agree with your comments on accessories. Being a designer of scarves I try to create pieces that can be worn in different styles, therefore being an essential travel accessory.
I have a couple of bags from Matt & Nat. Here is their web site. Their products are also available at Amazon.

Thank you for the recommendation Sharon. I had a look and the bags are lovely. I will investigate further.
As a vegetarian, I buy Matt and Nat bags. Many different styles and colours.
I am a statement necklace junkie.... and always on the search for great scarves. I am really not looking forward to fall or winter HOWEVER the opportunity to wear scarves almost outweighs my reluctance!!!!
I agree. I love Summer but I am missing my scarves.
I also am a magpie where accessories are concerned. I have items dating back to the Forties!
I don't believe in spending a lot on animal prints and so my bags are usually "fabric" totes. They give a nod to the prevalent "animal" currently in fashion, without harm, and are cheap and cheerful!
I also love scarves though as I am petite I cannot really carry off large ones, except on the beach as a cover-all.
I have lots of ones from Moira C (UK). These have magnetic clasps and are easy to style: can even be worn as a fake blouse-inset. Invaluable for holidays.
I have a small collection of collars that do not need sewing to be attached. These change the appearance of the garment very quickly.
Hi Mary
Thanks for your comment. I had a quick look at Moira C, an interesting idea. Your collars sound very creative for changing an outfit.
