How to style a simple sweater with a frilled collar. I am wearing a plain navy sweater and navy trousers which I have updated with the addition of a denim blue frilled collar. I have been meaning to buy a tie-on collar for some time. Previously I tried a few but they were too long and pointy and seemed a bit overwhelming. I finally found one that is simple and about the right size. The blue frill collar that I am wearing above comes from Next. It is also available in white. What a good idea for giving a simple outfit a lift. It saves wearing a shirt under a sweater which can sometimes appear bulky especially if the sweater is in fine wool.
Separate tye on collars have been around for a while. They are ideal if you want to jump on a Zoom call in a hurry and don’t have time to change your top. A touch of lippy and the addition of a lace or frilled collar and you are ready to go in about two minutes.
My navy trousers are from Me&E. I have had the navy tunic sweater for several years. It originally came from Cos.
This look really suits you!
I looked at the link for next and it shows an embroidered collar……
Hello Pru
Yes it is double-sided but I only wear it on the plain side

Lovely look. Very charming. So “you”. Really makes the outfit. I shall look for one here. I have a collection of tie-on collars from the 80s, though they are small ones. Always loved them. Will take a look through and see what my possibilities are. We’re seeing so many romantic pieces this Spring so this fits right in. I believe I can “romanticize” some of my plain, round-neck blouses quite nicely. Thank you for the idea!
