Finally summer has arrived in London. Better late than never. This is the first occasion I have worn linen this season. I know that linen is a love or hate fabric. Yes it does crease however personally I think this is part of its charm.
When temperatures reach the 30ºC/90ºF linen becomes my default option, especially when I am in France. I like to buy the thicker linens. I know that they are more expensive but I find they hang better. Although they crease they don’t get that really crumpled/rag like look.
When it gets really hot I don’t mind the sleeveless look however if you prefer to cover up you could choose a short sleeve shirt or sling a cotton shawl round your shoulders.
My trousers and top are several years old. It is getting a bit late in the season to buy linen however you may be lucky in the end of season sales.
I tracked down some linen trousers at Nordstrom (many now reduced) also a selection at John Lewis

Like you I love linen, it's by far the best fabric to wear in the heat. I've been wearing it for over 40 years and don't have one single friend who feels the same as me - they all dislike the creasing, crumpled look, but I think of all the elegant Italian women who wear it and think if they can so can I and just dream I might look as good as them.

Me too! I hardly wear anything except linen in hot weather. And, it must be unlined, because a ling would defeat the purpose. I've found some very nice linen pieces in thrift shops,I think it's because people don't like to iron, and can't stand the wrinkles. So they donate their linen items before there's much wear.
A very elegant outfit. Nice to change accessories. Here in Toronto it's been well over 31 degrees and humid to boot! Love wearing linen and I don't mind the wrinkles....... Lovely background photos.
I've been wearing linen trousers since May, I love them. I've got a couple of pairs of linen mix which don't even need ironing. My default setting for summer is cream linen trousers and a bright top.
You look great in your white linen (even your arms look good in the sleeveless top!). I love linen to, but I choose blue or natural, because I really look washed out in white. Once again, however, I must promote cotton because that is what we grow.
Being a lover of linen also, I like the crumpled look it gives, linen always feels so good when you wear it I have two pairs of linen trousers plus four pairs of coloured linen below the knee shorts that's my summer wardrobe, plus a couple of dresses for special occasions. You look brilliant Josephine many thanks for your help in the past.
You look lovely as usual.. I've always worn linen, I don't mind the crumpled look.
Thanks for all your lovely comments. I am glad that I am not alone in being a fan of linen. I have some more linen outfits coming soon.
