How to wear the animal print trend

Animal print of all varieties seems to have settled down as a classic in our wardrobes. Both summer and winter animal prints are now available in the shops and online.

Personally I like a touch of animal print, except for snake which is very popular this season. The reason for this is that I have a phobia of snakes so will be giving this trend a miss.

In my opinion a little animal print in an outfit goes a long way. I prefer to add a touch rather than feeling overwhelmed by the look. Last year I did however buy a red animal print tunic which you can see me wearing here. Very adventurous for me but I did get a lot of wear out of it. It looked especially good worn under a black or navy coat.

If you are a fan of this trend these animal prints could be a fun addition to your wardrobe.

A subtle addition of a snake skin top teamed with a neutral palette. Less is more when it comes to this look

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • Absolutely love the red and grey combination, just my style and I really liked your red leopard last year. Warm leopard isn't in my palette and I'm really a snake lady. Might be something to do with my maiden name.....Boa.

  • I have loved a touch of leopard for years. This year boarded leopard booties and snake ballerina flats. Absolutely love them!
