It seems strange to go back to writing about transitioning into Autumn after such a sunny and hot weekend this Bank Holiday. I was very glad I had bought my blue Cos dress. It has been extremely useful over the last few days. I have worn it on several occasions and received quite a few compliments.
Anyway back to a few tips for transitioning into the new season. I am not quite ready to go into darker colours at the moment. I find that blue jeans are a perfect way to create an interim balance between dark and light trousers.
Above I am wearing my tried and trusted Levi jeans. I have unmothballed my light pink puffa jacket. It has some warmth, however, because of the colour it still does not look too heavy. You do not need to choose a pastel if that is not a colour that works for you. It can be any light tone from your colour palette.
I feel that as we are going to be wearing dark colours for many months light colours are a good way to transition into Autumn. This year as the fashionable hues seem to be particularly dark and muted; in my opinion, there is no need to hurry into our darker colours.
Finally my Stan Smith sneakers which as far as I am concerned are an all year round staple in my wardrobe.

I can't believe you're wearing a puff jacket already. I'll be coming to London in September. Do you still recommend the white sneaker look? Afraid I'm bringing darker colors. Oh well, I'm a tourist. What can you expect. Right?
Hi Sandra
It is a very light puffa and I have only worn it for a couple of days recently, our weather is very mercurial. I do find it useful for early Autumn. Dark colours are definitely best for travelling.
Yay, bring on cooler weather! This is a fun look for you, the light pink looks good and your glasses rev it up.
Cooler weather PLEASE ..you are a wonderful source of inspiration ...i feel much more put together and confident sticking to your seasonal style tips ..
Thank you Josephine ☘

Hi Kathleen
Thanks for your comment. It is much cooler yet still sunny today more my kind of weather.
It is time for jackets again when the sun starts going down. The summer that never was is over. Frost warnings are back. Daytime temperatures are still pleasant.
This was the year I finally decided to get new summer clothes. Unnecessary, as it turns out.
