Planning your wardrobe

Looking to the future – My Spring edit

There was not much to do on a dark rainy day in London last week so I thought that I would do some research and see if there was anything at all exciting beginning to arrive in the shops. Looking to the future I have put together my Spring edit.

Details of above:

Cashmere shawl Hush |Mustard oversize trench coat Cos|Tie-Dye V necktie top Cos |Sheepskin gloves JL&P |Elasticated woven joggers Cos |Black loafers Fitflop |Leather cross body bag Cos.

Cos new arrivals – did not disappoint me. I have always liked their simple classics with a twist style. I have been buying from Cos for many years and I am pretty sure that I have kept all of their pieces. They never seem to go out of date.

Hush is another brand I favour. I bit younger in style but I bought a lovely dress from them last Spring. It is an all-year-round dress. You can see me wearing it last May and October. and am looking forward to wearing it again when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Details of above:

Pink Mac Boden|Pink cardigan Boden |Tie neck blouse Boden |Black cross body bag Hush |Suede flats Talbots |Black jersey trouser MarksandSpencer.

Boden is good for the basic classics. Their knitwear is always very colourful. I am really craving the pale pink raincoat in the above collage. The multicoloured print blouse would be ideal for a Zoom call.

Looking to the future – my Spring edit.

Well we can all dream.

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • Josephine, I liked your suggestion of the blouse for a Zoom call. I'm actually going to be on my first call; and, when I see myself while doing a test, I certainly need some color/zip....I'm looking quite pale on the screen! Boy....I'm going to need makeup/jewelry/pretty top...yipes! Don't know how women can do this.

  • So much to love here. I can’t own enough classic cardigans, floral/patterned feminine blouses and tunics. Pinks & blues are my favorites. We have lots of TJ Maxx and Marshalls in NJ and I always find wardrobe treasures. I’m not a purposeful shopper, but more a “what pretty things might I find today?” shopper. Alas, I lack discipline and prudence, to my husband’s chagrin. A pastel pink raincoat is now on my radar, and I’m feeling lucky.
