Making the most of your summer wardrobe

White jeans and leather jacket

I am back with more ideas on how to style white jeans in order to make the most your summer wardrobe. A leather jacket may not be the obvious piece to wear with a pair of white jeans; however, I like the contrast of my oversized navy leather jacket with the white jeans and tie neck ivory blouse. My jacket was a major investment piece from MeandEm a few years ago. They still have a similar one and I can highly recommend the quality of their leather. Pricey but I did get mine in the sale.

The second way I am wearing my jeans is with my kimono style denim jacket. I tried on quite a few denim jackets before I chose this one. I found that the traditional style that stops at the waist was not flattering on my pear shaped figure.

I like the touch of femininity that my soft tie neck blouse adds. You can just see the bows at the wrists peeking out from underneath the jacket. My white sandals and fedora hat are many years old.

I find that white jeans are extremely versatile, they go with every colour and you can team them with a variety of styles. Dress them up or down according to the occasion. They help to make the most of your summer wardrobe.

Land’s End seems to have a good selection of white jeans in a variety of styles on sale at the moment.

J.crew also have a variety of jeans at reduced prices.

See how I wore my white jeans more formally with a classic navy jacket here.

Read this having just removed my identical denim jacket, worn over cream jeans today! I too felt that the trad denim waist length jacket was not all that flattering and I wanted one that would cover all my longer tops. This was great on the style and practicality front and being denim, goes with almost all other colours although I have not quite got into double denim; not sure it would be acceptable to me. Any thoughts?
I’m with you, Josephine, on white jeans, absolutely a summer staple. Even if the sun isn’t shining, they make me feel summery and that’s worth a lot.

      Hi Sara
I did try double denim and was agreeably surprised with a touch of bright colour I think that it worked. You can check it out here

After your original post about your denim jacket, I purchased an “elongated” denim jacket from Chico’s and I love it. … I’m in agreement with the comments about the shorter denim jackets which seem to get shorter every year.

Bonjour Joséphine, I entirely agree, white jeans are a must for a spring/summer wardrobe. I would never have thought about wearing a leather jacket with them, what a good idea! Thanks for the tip, and greetings from the South of France ( rather wet and windy at the moment, so the white jeans will have to wait a few days)

      Bonjour Gillian
I will be going back the the South of France soon. I have heard that the weather has not been very good. I hope it gets better by the time we get there or I won’t be able to wear my white jeans.

Hello Josephine from Vancouver BC – I like the necklace you are wearing, would it be possible to share where it is from.
    Regards

      Hi Elizabeth
The necklace I am wearing is from St.Tropez marked. You can sometimes find similar on Etsy
