Multi ways to wear a scarf

As you know if you read this blog regularly I am a complete scarfaholic.

I find scarves especially useful when travelling with a very limited wardrobe. A simple scarf can, in my opinion, completely transform an outfit. It can act as jewellery, liven up a simple straw hat, add life to a plain white T shirt or protect your hair from the sun’s damaging rays.

Below are a few ideas for different ways to wear a silk scarf. The scarf is from Epice scarves.

Epice is a French scarf company  based on beautiful Scandivian design, and inspired by and made in India using fair-trade co-operatives. A marriage of the style and sophistication of the French, the clean cut contemporary design of Denmark plus the intricate patterns and vibrant colours of India.

I can personally vouch for the silk. It is lovely and thick and slubby.

The scarf I am wearing was kindly sent to me by Epice scarves. for review and came in extremely useful on my recent trip.

How do you tie your scarves?

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • "That is a very cute picture of you. You look wonderful in hats!"

    Thanks for your email Cheryl

  • I popped over to see these. Very pretty!

I love wearing scarves, and especially with transitional seasons (not to mention heating / air conditioning you can never predict), a scarf can be a life saver if you get chilly! I also love using scarves to dress up neutrals. I have three different ways of looping / typing that I tend to use consistently - is that boring? - they work for me!

(If I looked as good in a hat you do, I might loop a scarf around the hat as well!)

  • I love pure fibre scarves and never travel without them, but I definitely don't match your skills in tying them! Have a lovely weekend.

  • I don't need to tell you, Josephine, that I share your love for scarves. I rarely leave home without one, and, as for traveling, well.....they are the first items I pack. I often build my wardrobe around them. You look so adorable.

    Cheers, M-T

  • I love scarves and have so many, long, short, square, oblong, that I have to keep them in a trunk! Loved your articles on the capsule wardrobe and love this site. Keep up the good work!

  • Hi Josephine, I've just popped your blog address into Feedly, I arrived from Susan's blog and I plan to hang around if that's OK.
