By the time you read this post I will be enjoying myself in Paris. I will have taken the TGV up to Paris from Grimaud, where I am currently spending two weeks, to meet up with Susan of UneFemme.

What to pack for my two night stay was a dilemma as the weather is being very mercurial. It has been warm and sunny the past few days in Provence. I found I had to dig out my lighter summer clothes. Paris is a bit cooler with rain predicted. I travelled in my green parka (from J.Crew last year) similar above or see my post on Parkas.  I wore it with my stripe MeandEm trousers, one of their extremely useful layering tops and a fine cream sweater. My grey backpack will be useful for holding all my essentials plus my camera when I am out exploring during the day.

For dining out in the evening I thought I would keep things simple. I packed a pair of wide leg velvet trousers (mine are from MarksandSpencer last year). Velvet continues to be popular this year so there are plenty  of similar styles to choose from. I will be wearing my sliver metallic ankle boots and my polka dot finery blouse. A pink clutch just adds a bit of colour.

I reckon that all these items can be interchanged depending on the activity and the temperature. Both pairs of shoes are definitely very comfortable for all day walking.

I will be posting the photos I took in Paris shortly plus a summary of the street styles I observed.

There is still time to win a WoolOvers knit (entry form at bottom of post). Giveaway closes Wednesday 25th.

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • I love your choices especially the Finery spot blouse. I have been fancying the blouse but I'm not sure what to wear underneath it as the back looks transparent. Do you find it ok to wear without a cami underneath Josephine?

    • I normally wear a nude camisole anyway but think it would be fine without. It is not that transparent

  • Look forward to seeing your photos. Packing for a holiday has become so much easier for me now that I have been learning from you!

  • I particularly like the parka and the silver boots - it's so important to be comfortable and cosy for all that walking around in Paris, with a chic edge.
I haven't been to Paris for ages so this is making me want to book a trip! Glad you've been having good weather in Grimaud - I have to wait until January for my next Provencal fix!
