Interior decorations at Le Bon Marche department store.

I am back as promised with more photos of my Paris trip. On the final morning Susan of Unefemme and I spent a couple of hours sitting outside a typical french cafe sipping delicious coffee. I managed to get a few street style shots.

During my visit the weather was unseasonably warm for this time of year. The parisians were not in their full winter gear. However I did spot a few ‘down coats’.

Especially popular were anorak style coats/jackets with faux fur collars. Note skinny trousers are still popular. We did not see any wide cut off trousers in Paris. Trainers and boots were the order of the day.

There were some lovely bright colourful coats. I especially liked the blues. We saw several versions of blue coats in the shops.

Full on burgundy/wine. The colour of the season. I love the two figures at the front in their shocking pink faux fur shawls!

Winter white teamed with dark leggings and trainers.

Classic monochrome.

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • What beautiful decorations and so different. Good to see Parisians in colours for a change ! But not surprised wide leg trousers and cut offs haven't caught on, can't make up my mind about them, but this has perhaps swayed me ! Think you have to be tallish to carry them off.

Happy Christmas to you Josephine, and looking forward to more inspirations from you in 2017.

  • My favorite part of traveling is people watching... okay and the food! Cafes are the best for both!
    Have a wonderful day!

  • I also like the blue coats. Will be hopping over the Pond to London in less than a month and hope that the January sales will still be on. Perhaps I might find a wool coat/jacket in a lovely color, though I am guessing the stock in most places will be fairly depleted by then. So happy you and Susan had a lovely time in Paris.

    • Hi Mary
The sales seem to start earlier and earlier each year. However they should be some still going in January. I have sometimes been lucky with some very reduced items late in the sales.
