Planning your wardrobe for Autumn 2023

Planning your wardrobe for Autumn 2023

As I write this post I am sitting in our apartment in Grimaud, having flown here last Monday. The weather is hot, humid and overcast. I am therefore still wearing my summer dresses, tees and trousers. However, I am beginning to plan my wardrobe for Autumn 2023.

Details of above:

Black leather cross-body bag Cos || Pink cashmere sweater MarksandSpencer || Light pink scarf Superdry || Checked relaxed longline coat MarksandSpencer || Silver hoop earrings ( US link) Boden || Black Ponte trousers (US link) Boden || knee high black boots JohnLewis&Partners.

Before I left the UK I bought the pink cashmere short sleeve polo neck sweater. I reckon it will be an excellent interim piece to wear under lightweight jackets and then teamed with a chunky cardigan or under my denim jacket later in the season.

The weather these days seems to be very mercurial with the seasons all a bit topsy-turvy. We need to plan our wardrobes carefully to maximise our outfits with the minimum effort. I spent some time checking out the new Autumn Collections in the Bentalls Centre in Kingston. I took quite a few photos and will be posting them shortly. There was definitely a wide selection of rich autumn colours on the rails. There was however a good selection of the cooler greys and navies. I have not worn grey for a while so I think I will be buying a few key pieces in the lighter tones. Both grey and navy work well if you want to add some brighter colours near your face.

Planning your wardrobe for Autumn 2023 – cool colours.

Chicatanyage

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • Oh to be wearing summer tees! Heating has come on, and my wardrobe consists or rain mac and wellies, but we are counting ourselves lucky we haven't been flooded! Enjoy your break!

  • Beautiful selections! My coloring is warmer, and I usually can't wear pink or navy, but you make me want to try again. I love the coat and pink cashmere sweater. I look forward to more of your pictures!

  • I don't normally lean towards such bright colors in the fall/winter, but these pinks are making me rethink that!
