Simple steps to posh up our picnics

Now that many of us are preferring to spend more time outside with friends and family let us explore some simple steps to posh our picnics. As I sit at my desk and write this post the weather in London is not currently conducive to planning a picnic. However, I am eternally optimistic and surely we must have some warm sunny weather soon. As I checked out our current picnic basket I realised that many of the items looked decidedly worn and needed updating. There is some really fun jazzy picnic tableware around at the moment. I was spoiled for choice when I was putting these collages together.

Simple steps to posh up our picnics:

Don’t forget about what you are going to wear for your picnic in the park or your friends garden. There are so many lovely summer dresses around at the moment many are already reduced in the sale, see my recent post on early sales bargains. I have added a denim jacket and a cashmere cardigan if it turns chilly. Cardigans are one of the most useful items for our unpredictable British summer. I often tie one around my shoulders. Don’t forget your sun lotion. Even if the skies are cloudy the rays can get through and potentially damage your skin.

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.
