It is that time of year when it is in between seasons. I have not yet unpacked my lighter summer wardrobe from their winter resting pace in our garage. It can be sunny one minute then raining and windy the next. Layers are the answer. So this very flattering navy boiled wool sleeveless top by Hopefashion is just the job. I can wear it now over my navy roll neck sweater (similar) and when the weather finally turns warmer team it with a cream or white top or T-shirt.
It was freezing cold the day we took these photographs. In order to keep warm in between shots I put my puffa coat back on. This gave me the idea of how useful and hard working this simple piece can be. It is not thick or bulky yet being made of boiled wool it is extremely warm. I shall be wearing it all year round in various guises. it will definitely earn its keep.
I like the interesting touch of the pin. The top looks equally good worn open as closed. You could also dress it up with the addition of a favourite broach. My navy puffa jacket is a few years old (similar at Uniqlo). Shoes Paul Green (similar)
Do check out Hopefashion. (Hope do ship Internationally). They are one of my favourite brands and offer extremely practical clothes for women of all ages, sizes and shapes.

You look absolutely stunning in that shade of blue! Love the sleeveless jacket too. I'm struggling to find a jacket for Spring. Nothing seems to look quite right. Any suggestions?
Hi WendyB
If you give me a bit more information on roughly what you want. Colour and style I will see what I can do. I am not wearing many of my more formal jackets at the moment. I prefer what I consider between a coat and a jacket something more casual.
I love your blog and hope to meet you again pretty lady x
My dear -- you and that color of blue were meant to be together. Lovely choices.
You look very beautiful in that blue colour and I like the jacket on the first photo. The spring is the same hete in Norway. The wether changes all the time.
Really love the lines of that top…..GREAT layering piece!
I think you've picked one of the best pieces in the collection. It seemed to me one of the few (other than the foundation pieces) that doesn't involve acres of fabric. Also there seems to be an awful lot of ponchos..... A shame because I really like the concept and use of models who are not stereotypes and would like to support what Hope is trying to do. I know a lot of women of our age are attracted to voluminous, billowing garments to disguise our middles but it can be somewhat counterproductive - evoking a ship in full sale image which wasn't intended!
Hi MaureenC
I know what you mean. I do have one of Hope's ponchos and am sitting here wearing a trapeze style cashmere sweater which I love, however there are only so many voluminous pieces that one needs. I have not tried their foundation pieces, not sure they are my "look". I have another outfit coming out in tomorrow's post which is easy to wear and not billowy. I do like to support Hope as they are a great British brand.
You look amazing in that top outfit, Josephine! Love this on you!
