Statement jewellery to enhance your party outfits

The holiday and party seasons are upon us. At this time of year, there are many calls on our possibly stretched finances. There are gifts to be purchased and festive food to be ordered. Sometimes there is not much spare cash left to buy ourselves a new party outfit. Statement jewellery is a great way to enhance your party outfits.

A stunning piece of statement jewellery comes to the rescue. A simple basic outfit can be turned into a glamorous party look with the addition of a statement necklace or an eye-catching pair of earrings.

Over the years I have acquired a large collection of statement pieces. They never seem to go out of fashion. In fact, I think, like us, they improve with age!

Nobody will notice that you are wearing the same LBD as last year if you add a new piece of jewellery.

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • ACCESSORIES are MY FUN!DID you see on Instagram I put two necklaces together to make ONE!?I have NO where to go with that Necklace but it might be FUN to wear on Christmas Eve.........XX

  • And statement necklaces are just so much fun to shop for! You never know where you will find just the right thing. I do think Cos has a very good, and very reasonable, selection of necklaces. But sometimes it's the little hole-in-the-wall shops in a mall that will have just the right, fun piece!

  • I have just made a list of the Christmas events that we'll be attending. I plan to shop my closet and put together outfits for each one in advance so that I can simply get dressed without the stress of figuring out what to wear. I'll definitely be calling on some of my statement jewelry, especially older pieces, to dress things up.

    • Hi Diana

I would say that costume necklaces are not made with real stones/metals whereas statement necklaces can be made with either real stones/metals or other materials. Statement jewellery is usually large in size and/or ornate.
