Cotton sweaters for Summer. I have finally packed away my winter woolies. Summer took so long in coming and Spring. except for the blossom, seemed nonexistent. I have still kept a few of my lighter weight sweaters in summery hues in my wardrobe, just in case. However what I find to be incredibly useful during the summer months are cotton or linen/cotton mix sweaters. On a sunny but chilly day they add that extra layer, not to mention splash of colour. I also keep a couple in France see my capsule wardrobe post. The pink linen/cotton V neck (US link) I am wearing is a recent purchase from WoolOvers(US link).

I have teamed my pink sweater with a tie neck top from MeanEm. Mine is from last year.  White sneakers by kids(UK)

Pink flower brooch I have had for many years. I found some interesting ones at Etsy

PS. The summer sales seem to start earlier and earlier. Here are a few that in consider worth investigating.

Harvey Nichols. Exclusive members only sale so you will have to sign up. Harvey Nichols is aspiration for me budget wise however I am interested in sale prices.

Feelunique. My go to site for all my beauty products. They currently have some excellent skin-care offers.

Finery have some excellent reductions on current stock.

Nordstrom. 40% reductions continue till 4th June.

Chicatanyage

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • You are in the pink! A good change out of our home decor for the season always adds a bit of new without breaking the bank. We encourage our clients to "recycle" and "re use" even within their own homes. Or what about a swap with friend?-littleblackdomicile.com

  • I love cotton and linen sweaters in the summer. Our evenings are often quite cool, and it's nice to have that layer. You look lovely in pink!

  • I'm so glad you've gone with pink this year. It was made for you. :) You've made me remember my cotton sweaters (3 of them) -- in beige, navy, and cantaloupe. I'm pulling them out now. :)

  • I think pink if good for all women if that is what you like to wear. I bought myself a pair of pink trousers a couple of weeks ago and are very pleased with them.
