I have always loved blue. It reminds me of the sea, the sky and summer. So it is with much joy that I welcome blue in all its shades as an “on trend” fashion colour for S/S 2015. Not that it makes a lot of difference as I would still be buying and wearing blue even if it was not one of the colours of the season. It just makes life easier as there are more options available in the shops.
Blue is a flattering colour on most of us with the exception of those with very warm toned skin and hair and even then a mid tone blue can be teamed with brown or camel.
Here I am wearing a new long line tunic in powder blue. I find this style very flattering as it disguises any lumps and bumps round the middle. If you have longer body and shorter legs you many need to adjust the proportions.

Magnificent! Love this look, so stylish & understated :)
Perfect for your coloring! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful...and I love the beige brogues you selected. This top on you is perfection!
This is one of the best outfits that I've seen you in: understated chic and really flattering colours. Now I just have to find myself a similar outfit during my visit to London this weekend!
your best look yet! refreshing, elegant
Really nice look! I'm not too big on blue, but I'm trying…!
That's a great looking tunic, and you are always gorgeous in that color!
It looks wonderful with your hair colour. I am still brunette at 68. If you have any clever advice about quitting the hairdye, it would be wonderful to hear it! Then I might grow as fond of blue as you are!
Hi Barbara & Kathryn
The hair colour issue is always a tricky one if you are a brunette. I am lucky in that I was a sort of mousey blonde and as my hair has gone grey at the front all I have to do is have peroxide highlights every 4 months on the top and back to even things out a bit. You could try an Anna Wintour and go lighter and lighter (she was very dark when she was young) it is a bit softer on the complexion.
Get some advice from a good hairdresser, I think you can have your hair stripped of existing colour and then maybe see where you are and add a few softer tones before taking the final step to grey unless of course you choose to go "cold turkey". I too am thinking about quitting the hair dye!! Would be grateful for any tips.
Love blue too, it's so flattering on older complexions.
How can you not love blue? Lovely pic of you in the long line powder blue tunic top! If you are feeling bold, why not try midnight blue nails - http://www.thehipsterette.com.au/wordpress/?p=8280 have a look at mine.
hi Hipsterett
Midnight blue nails are a nice idea. However I don't think my nails are up to that at the moment. I have difficulty keeping a blush pink in good shape.
