Sales

The January sales are still on. There are great bargains.

What with clearing up after the holidays and then driving down to France plus taking some time off from the internet to de-stress I have not put my attention on the January sales. However, I have been having a look over the last couple of days. The sales are still in full swing. Quite a few of the sizes are sold out; however there are still some great bargains to be had.

My strategy for all sales

Be cautious and prudent. I generally only look at the brands that I like and buy from on a regular basis. A good plan is to stock up on basics. I know I need some new black or navy trousers. Quite a few of my old favourites are worn out and need replacing. Some of my neutral coloured tops have also become less than pristine. Neutral tops are good additions to a well-planned wardrobe. At this time of year knitwear can also be a wise purchase as it is often heavily reduced.

The first brand I have chosen to feature is Hopefashionuk. Many of their clothes are trans-seasonal. I find their foundation range ideal for travel. I could not resist their lux burgundy velvet trousers which I have added to my wardrobe. My plan is to wear them now with my sweaters and later with a plain white shirt. I will also be adding a couple of their foundation pieces. Hopefashionuk sale. This is a link to their complete sale so that you can have a look at the full range. As I said before some sizes may be sold out.

MeandEm sale

Another brand that in my opinion offer good basics is MeandEm. I particularly like their classic trousers and their white and cream tops. They also offer a comprehensive range of knitwear in both neutral and bright colours. I have a couple of their cream tops on my wish list.

Finally quite a few of the styles I featured on my blog last year are on sale. My burgundy ankle boots are now reduced from £119 to £59 (unfortunately only small size left) available at John Lewis.

My green blazer that I wore whilst on my recent trip to Paris is now reduced from £129 to £90 available at Hush and John Lewis.

Happy sales hunting

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.
