After a morning checking out the shops in St Tropez, they seem to change each season with new ones appearing all the time, we found a wonderful oasis in which to rest our weary feet and take a small coffee, or in my case a delicious fresh mint tea served in an exquisite china cup. This beautiful old building in the centre of the town used to be an art Gallery. It has now been completely renovated and transformed into the ‘Boutique Dior’ with the addition of an extremely Chic outdoor cafe. My friend and I took a tour round the boutique accompanied by men in dark suits with Walky talkies, maybe they sussed that we did not have the air of big spenders, don’t know how! I would not have said no to some of the jackets but the dresses were way too short. We opted for just the coffees on this occasion.
After having sat there for a few minutes at out table I noticed a really elegant woman of a certain age enter. I could not resist taking a quick photo. What do you think?

Every detail was exquisite down to the delicate china- I now want to decorate my home in that lovely soft grey |
Beautiful, I remember lusting after the lily of the valley chinaware when I first saw it in the Paris shop. Shall definitely be visiting in a few weeks!
Looks gorgeous and I certainly aspire to look like that in my 80’s. Just hope I live that long!
Love her! “A certain age” is usually over by 70 or so (it is that indeterminate middle to late middle period); after that, a woman of advanced years is an elder, a grande dame or an old lady, depending on your tact and intention.
Happy to have found your beautiful blog! The woman that you photographed appears elegant and confident, which is a great combination.
LOL! I’m a new reader of your blog and rec’d your first post today…at first glance, it was email from “Chica Tanya Ge.” I found myself wondering, who is Chica? Do I know her? Hilarious! 😉
Love this post, would give anything to be sitting in the Dior cafe, drinking from that china, admiring the woman in the soft, sparkly grey.
