I have a confession to make in that I am a “scarfaholic”, I wonder if they have a self help group for this addition. I have dozens of scarves collected over the years. Even when I have a blitz on tidying my wardrobe and clearing out items I no longer wear I very rarely get rid of a scarf.
They are such amazingly useful additions to any wardrobe. They add colour to an otherwise neutral outfit, are ideal travelling companions as they take up very little room in a suitcase and the larger ones can double up as sarongs on holiday. You can tie them in so many different ways and even use them to cover your hair on one of those “bad hair days”. Somehow you always look groomed and soigne when you are wearing a scarf. Luckily they are very much back in fashion this season, not that they ever went out of fashion in my opinion.
Anyway I was meeting one of my best friends for lunch the other day, she is over here from South Africa for a week, and the venue of choice was the Bond & Brook restaurant in the newly re-vamped Fenwick. (Good food but very small portions, I suppose it must be for the “ladies who lunch” that want to fit into the size 0 dresses on display).
As I walked in through the entrance I was met by a dazzling array of exquisite scarves, in all colours of the rainbow (as you can see from the photos below). I have always thought that Fenwick of Bond street along with Libertys had one of the best selection of scarves in London.
On this occasion I did resist the temptation of buying another scarf, however did try on the print dress below. It is a 1050s style shirt-waister style, which fitted well and is a flattering style for me. Just not sure about the animal print as I usually wear plain. Still sometimes it is good to be a little more adventurous. What do you think?
I shall shortly be doing some more research into scarves currently in the shops and on line so watch this space.

That's a great dress on you, and IMO you'd get a lot of wear from it! I adore scarves, from pochettes to big shawls and all in between. And I never "outgrow" them!
