I don’t know about you but I feel that this is going to be a long hard winter. In my opinion, we are going to need as much help as we can get to cheer us up. A bit of self-pampering never goes amiss. So today I have put together a variety of useful items to enjoy and to help lift our mood.
The first item I have chosen is the Nanobronze by a new skincare company called Indeed Labs. This product was gifted to me so that I could try it out. I found it extremely easy to use. You just add a few drops to your moisturiser. It really gives your skin a soft glow which is definitely what we need at this time of year when our complexions can look very pale and washed out. You can adjust the number of drops that you add according to your skin colour. I found that a couple of drops was plenty for me. You could also add the drops to your normal foundation in the summer months to give yourself a light tan.
The second product is from the same company. They have just launched a range especially for women going through the menopause. I did not test this product as I am past that stage. I thought that I would include it for those of you who are experiencing the effects of the menopause. This is their me-NO-pause cooling mist. They also offer a restorative moisturiser. If you do try any of these products do let me know what you think. I wish I had known about the cooling mist when we were in France this Summer and the temperatures reached 38 degrees celsius.
I have had Dr Rupy Aujla’s first cookery book The Doctor’s Kitchen for a couple of years now and absolutely love it. He gives good nutritional advice at the beginning of his books. The recipes are ideal if you like slightly spicy cuisine. Most of the dishes are vegetable-based although he also uses chicken and fish. There is quite a lot of chopping of vegetables but after the preparation is done the recipes are quick and easy. I recently bought his second book Eat to beat illness and am finding the recipes just as delicious.
Who doesn’t love some soothing bath time treats? I have included the Sleep collection. We all need a good nights sleep. Each item in the collection above can be bought separately and make great gifts. I particularly like their candles.
Curl up on a cold Winter’s evening in a cosy bathrobe/housecoat and read a good book or watch a Netflix series. I have recently watched Life on BBCiplayer. I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters. The bathrobe is from JohnLewis&Partners. I have a similar one from a few years ago.
I am about to purchase this jersey leisure top from JL&P. It will go well with my joggers for wearing around the house. I will probably wear a wool polo neck or thermal vest underneath when the weather gets colder.
Finally a pair of cosy slip-on slippers from JL&P for wearing around the house on cold winter evenings.
Or how about a pair of cosy cashmere socks from JL&P.
You might like to try one of Emma Marshall’s warming soups or sweet treats (I have just made these and they are very moreish).
If you know of any useful items to help lift our mood do share in the comments box.
