Always a conundrum with the variable British weather. So I decided on a long stripy skirt teamed with a white T shirt and a grey cardigan in case it turned chilly. I also popped a pashmina into my bag to wrap round my shoulders and yes I have kept my collection. Despite their demise as a fashion item, I find them extremely useful.
I am not normally a fan of very cheap fashion however despite my conscience I could not resist the skirt above. It comes from Primark and cost all of £10 |
You look smashing! What a great find that skirt was. I’ve also kept my pashminas, and find them perfect for travel or those changeable-climate/air-conditioning situations.
Me too (keeping my pashminas)! This is a wonderful look, and thanks for sharing it with Visible Monday.
A great look and you look like you were having a good laugh while being photographed.
I love the pashminas that I bought at Ventimiglia market in Italy so much that I bought them in 6 different colours.
There is mostly a lot of tat there now compared to a few years ago but these are still worth buying. They always get a run out at some point over the summer.
We live on an island where even the hottest day ends in cool, damp breezes. Pashminas will never be out of style here.
I like your choice for the barbecue!
Such a smart and cost-conscious addition to your wardrobe! And you look fabulous. I tend to be a little cautious when buying wardrobe items that may be a passing fashion fancy, so it is a coup to find something as charming as your long skirt at a great price point.
Well, you look great in the skirt! A very worthwhile investment I’d say. And totally agree with you about pashminas. They’re invaluable.
I’m thrilled because I finally found a summer hat in the sale. Having seen the ones in Fenwicks for nearly £200 (very lovely), I’ve been searching for one at a price I can afford and came up trumps locally with one in the sale. £45 reduced to £10. Do you find hats difficult? I’ve found it incredibly hard to find one that 1. fits my big head and 2. suits me.

Hi Zoe
Well done finding your hat. I have the reverse problem I have a small head and most hats are too big (at least I can add velcro and make them smaller).
Glad most of you are still Pashmina fans and that I am not alone.
The skirt is beautiful, albeit expensive, and the outfit with the white shirt and pashmina is perfect. I like the sandals and necklace are very beautiful.
Your skirt has inspired me! I bought an inexpensive striped skirt and top in Paris this spring. Our weather in Vancouver is in transition now so a cardigan and pashmina will work for an outside event. Your outfit looks chic and comfortable for a cooler evening.
The first word I thought of was *statuesque* … you manage to look tall and elegant in horizontal stripes. On your bottom half, yet! Sigh. Never happening for me … but nice to know that it can be done, and done beautifully.
Lovely, the whole thing!
Thanks Barbara
You look fabulous, and the Primark skirt looks a million dollars the way you’ve teemed it with the simple T/shirt. Looks a very useful item to have in your wardrobe.
What a fabulous look! Everything about your outfit is perfect.
You look lovely! I agree with keeping pashminas. Although I live in Texas where the weather can be upward of 102/38, I always have a pashmina tied to my bag!
You look amazing! Striped skirts have been huge in New York this summer. My favorites are the long skirts.
