We love going to the Holland Park Opera during the London summer season. This year we went to Rossini’s il barbieri di Saviglia. Part of the pleasure is wandering round the beautiful gardens before having our picnic.
I had never noticed the wonderful wall paintings depicting the park in times gone by and the beautiful dresses worn by the women of that era. So I could not resist some photos with the murals as a backdrop.
It was a slightly breezy afternoon so I was glad I had bought a jacket and pashmina with me to wrap round my shoulders.
The dress I am wearing is by Winserlondon. Jacket is by Zara (a few months old) and my pashmina bought years ago on a trip to India. You can find some beautiful ones at Catherine Robinson.

You look lovely but oh ....those dreary nude shoes...they have no style, are truly boring and fade your feet into the footpaths. Surely it isn't chic at any age to chose shoes for comfort alone?
I actually like the shoes. Yes they are comfortable however I choose them because nude shoes lengthen the legs. If I wear a coloured or navy shoe it draws a horizontal line at my ankle and thereby makes my calves look heavier. Also there are many steps in the garden plus gravel paths and as I don't have the luxury of a chauffeur to carry my picnic hamper I would risk tripping and spraining an ankle.

I couldn't disagree more w/the Lady who took you to task for the neutral pumps. Neutral pumps are flattering on just about everyone, particularly w/a pointed toe. Perfect outfit for a not-so-warm summer occupation. Opera in the Park must have been most enjoyable. About wearing "nude" shoes I think they must be the most versatile choice but I am still looking for the perfect cut and comfort to add to my wardrobe. Just think of our lovely Kate Middleton it is often her choice of footwear, so flattering.
Love the blue dress and hat -- they're very chic. Each of your stylings (with pashmina, jacket, or scarf) is elegant. And your hair is perfect too! Just a totally successful look. The park, the paintings, and Rossini -- what a wonderful afternoon.
